Please join Asher Gallery for a chat with Houston-based artists, Jason Kishell and Amber Tiemann, as they demonstrate their signature techniques. Jason will show his draftsmanship, as he draws onto his ceramics, and Amber will present how she uses polymer clay in her jewelry. Both artists’ distinctive, skillful and sometimes quirky designs have been Asher Gallery favorites for years. Artist demonstrations will cycle throughout the event.

Jason Kishell firmly believes that craftsmanship is critical to reaching his audience, drawing them in with illusion and skill. In this way, he exploits the transformation of materials into highly detailed objects of mystery, fantasy, and entertainment. Using these elements, he explores the endless relationships of life and death, nature and humanity.

Amber Tiemann started as a painter and has always been drawn to working with color. Although she now specializes in metalsmithing, she remains true to her vision by incorporating enamel, polymer clay, resins and colored stones into a rich, bold color palette that complements her modern aesthetic. Her jewelry is marked by crisp clean lines and a nod to mid-century and industrial design.
