HANDS-ON HOUSTON: WOODEN TOY CARS

June 1, 2013 at 11:00 am

Please join HCCC for HANDS-ON HOUSTON on Saturday, June 1st. This month, the Woodworkers Club of Houston will demonstrate how to assemble and decorate a handmade wooden toy car.  Participants will learn how to use a jig and hammer to assemble the cars and then decorate them using decals and colored Sharpies.  Prior to the activity, the WCH will be busy prepping the toys by tracing each car pattern on wood, cutting it out with a band saw, drilling holes for the windows and wheel axels, routing it, and sanding it on a belt sander. The Woodworkers Club of Houston is comprised of 200 members who make and donate about 5,000 toys annually to charities around Houston. Learn more at www.wwch.org. Read More »
