HCCC is always looking for new volunteers! Our wonderful team of volunteers includes docents, administrative assistants, gallery attendants, and much more.
- We are creating a new volunteer position! The job of the “Ask Me Docent” is to be present in the gallery during HANDS-ON HOUSTON and other high-volume events. This person will answer questions about the artwork and engage visitors of all ages by asking open-ended questions, leading compare and contrast observations, and encouraging young visitors to complete the activity guide. Visitors could approach the “Ask Me Docent” and get a 3-5 minute “mini-tour” about one or two of the objects.

- Exhibitions Internship
Houston Center for Contemporary Craft seeks an Intern to support the exhibitions program. The successful candidate will work closely with curatorial staff and engage visitors, while learning day to day operations of three gallery spaces. In addition to working with artists and staff, the Intern should demonstrate reliability and a positive upbeat attitude. Current enrollment or recent degree in arts-related studies required.
