Join Houston Center for Contemporary Craft for Craft Social, a night of making and exploring contemporary craft over conversation and refreshments.

With the current exhibition, Head Gear, as our inspiration, this event will explore the transformative properties of makeup. Discover how Houston makeup artist Sarah Ali, of Chamak Cosmetics, uses cosmetics and tools to transform faces. Learn a range of makeup tricks and techniques, from changing your eye shape with liner to creating a whimsical mask-like look.  Sarah will demonstrate ways to enhance your best features, as well as give out tips for you to incorporate into your own makeup routine. After you watch Sarah’s presentation, get creative by making and customizing your own lip balm with various colors, scents, and even sparkle!

About Sarah Ali
Sarah Ali, M.S., LPC, is the director of the school and owner of Chamak Cosmetics. She trained at the prestigious Studio Makeup Academy in Hollywood and Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts under Oscar-award-winning artists and Dinair. She has worked in the beauty industry since 1998. Sarah has a master’s in counseling psychology and is licensed as a psychotherapist and a life coach. This background and training enables her to provide a supportive, encouraging, and inspiring environment for students. As an instructor, she teaches not just makeup artistry and how to make handcrafted natural cosmetics and create a unique brand, but she coaches and guides students on how to establish their careers. Many students visit after classes are over for further mentoring and to do an internship with the studio. To see portfolio of her work, visit www.chamakcosmetics.com.
