Please join HCCC and Aurora Picture Show for a special screening of short films and GIFs featuring neon.

At the beginning of the evening, visitors are invited to explore the current exhibition, Light Charmer: Neon and Plasma in Action, which inspired this special event. Then, around 8:00 PM, we will kick things off in the Craft Garden by projecting a selection of GIFs created at the March Craft Social, followed by short, experimental and documentary films (shot on both 16mm and digital film), featuring neon signs, light, and color. The works, selected by Mary Magsamen, Curator at Aurora Picture Show, will explore the fascination with light in film, as well as an appreciation for craft and documentation. Filmmakers include Marie Menken, Ben Russell, Joel Schlemowitz, Stan Brakhage, Paul Clipson, Lior Ben Horin, and others.
