Join HCCC and former resident artist Angel Oloshove for a terracotta vessel workshop using hand-building techniques. Learn how to hand build using clay slabs and coils to create a unique container, then play with form, design, and textures using terracotta clay, which retains its rich rust color after firing. Design and bring to life a planter, abstract sculpture, vase, or uniquely purposed vessel, while learning this ancient pottery technique.

Note: The vessel will be fired and ready for pick-up at HCCC after June 8th. This method does not include a glaze finish and, therefore, the vessel will not be food safe.

No experience necessary. Supplies will be provided. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fee includes instructor, materials, and administration fees. The class is for adults only (age 18 and over) and requires a minimum of 12 participants to hold.

Online registration opens in mid-April.

$45 for HCCC members
$55 for Non-members

Workshops are subject to cancellation or change due to low enrollment. Registrants will be notified seven (7) days in advance if the workshop is cancelled by HCCC. If registrants need to cancel their reservation, they must do so at least fourteen (14) days in advance to receive a full refund. No refunds will be made for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to workshop date. To cancel your registration, email HCCC at education@crafthouston.org, so that someone on the waiting list can attend the workshop.
