ANNUAL FUND DRIVE

It’s hard to believe that September 22nd marked the beginning of our 15th anniversary year at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Was it really so long ago that we were just people with a dream? And, now, here we are, ready to celebrate our Quinceañera. To kick off this important year, we are debuting an annual fund drive to continue the support for the work we do and give us the tools to grow even further. We’ve set an appropriate goal of $150,000—what better way to ring in our 15th year? With your help, we can easily reach this, thanks to an anonymous donor who will match up to $75,000 for this fund!

The years since 2001 have seen us grow exponentially. Our Artist Residency Program is now nationally regarded, bringing in over 80 high-caliber applicants each year. Where we once turned to traveling shows to fill the galleries, now we present original exhibitions curated in house. HANDS-ON HOUSTON, a monthly, free, family craft activity, has exploded from averaging 50 visitors to over 350. HCCC has fully grown into its mission to advance education about the process, product and history of craft. We’re now asking you for support so we may continue educating our city and the world about contemporary craft.

It’s also a time for celebration, and we’ll be having plenty of fun this year, too! On January 21st, 2016, we’ll host Margarita Madness!, a new twist on our trademark Martini Madness! cocktail fundraiser. We’ll continue our festivities in the spring, as we honor pivotal figures in the Houston community at the Crafting a Legacy Spring Luncheon. So, if you like to get down, or prefer to sit down, you can be part of the celebration.

Without you, we would not be who we are today, nor will we become who we can be. Please accept a gift certificate to Asher Gallery, worth 10% of your donation, as our thanks for your support. (And, remember, your donation will go even further, thanks to our matching donor!) You’ll find exclusive benefits offered on the enclosed reply form—please donate by December 31st, 2015. Thank you for your support of HCCC, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
